WELCOME TO WALKING FOOTBALL'S FIRST CLUB!
Senior Spireites play Walking Football in the Chesterfield area 4 times a week and we are always looking for new members. If you like the idea of fun, fitness and friendship, come and play the beautiful game with us. New membership is open to men and women over 50 years old of all abilities and levels of fitness. Chesterfield Senior Spireites Walking Football was born in 2011 (the first walking football club in the world!) and is still going strong, now with over 120 members.
Playing sessions are at The Akademy, Callywhite Lane, Dronfield on Monday and Fridays from 11.00 to 12.00 and on Tuesday evenings from 19.00 to 20.00. There are also sessions at Eastwood Park, Hasland on Thursdays from 10.00 to 11.00. (At Hasland it is a tarmac surface which requires care to be taken when playing, to avoid the risk of injury). For the safety of all players we are strongly advising that shin pads be worn at all playing sessions.
The playing sessions on Tuesday evenings at Dronfield and Thursday mornings at Hasland are currently full but we do have a waiting list for new members if you would like to play at either of these sessions in the future.
If you would like to try this fun sport, come along to one of the playing sessions. The first taster event is FREE and then you pay a monthly membership fee of £7.50. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Please note walking football is a competitive sport, involving potential risks to health by its nature. While every effort is made to ensure we play in a friendly and sensible fashion, in accordance with club playing rules and code of conduct, members take part in this activity at their own risk. The club and/or any individual members cannot be held responsible for any injury.

Following an incident where one of our members suffered a cardiac arrest whilst playing, the Club wants to highlight the importance of everyone being aware of how to do CPR and to be able to operate the defibrillator units that are available.
Below is a very useful video from the British Heart Foundation on how to do CPR.
